Dancers from Tiospa Zina and Finding Author's Purpose in the Newspaper

We managed to pack a lot of activities in our short week. We reviewed our language arts skill finding the author's purpose, by doing a scavenger hunt in the newspaper. We found that the newspaper has lots of information and persuasion, but sometimes entertainment is hard to find. Then on Wednesday afternoon, dancers from Tiospa Zina came to share their dances with us. We even got to join in for the round dance.

Spirit Week!

This year the fourth grade was so excited to participate in the community parade! We had a fun time making and riding on our float! We had 3 drum patterns that we played around town. We are really excited to be in middle school next year, where we will get to design our own float.

Fun in the First Weeks!

I have had a blast getting to know some new faces and seeing some familiar ones! These seven days have been so much fun in fourth grade. We had fun with the photo booth Mrs. Pikarski set up for the first day of school.
We also have done team building activities to help us form a community, as well as, learn about the math manipulatives we will use this year. We have talked about strategies to help us stay calm. We even created a classroom set of mindfulness jars!
As a class, we have created norms that you can expect to see on a daily basis when you enter our room. I have had the opportunity to spend time getting to know each child through some of our activities, and I am excited to continue to learn about them as the year goes on. Please continue to follow this blog to see how we will flourish in 4th!
